Li Chentao studies with Sheng Yuan

Piano undergraduate · Central Conservatory of Music

Sheng Yuan is a pianist and historical keyboard performer who teaches in the Piano Department of the Central Conservatory of Music. He is a doctoral supervisor and heads the department’s principal-study teaching group. He has performed internationally and appeared as a soloist with orchestras in China and abroad.

Bach’s keyboard music has long been central to his performance and research. Alongside the modern piano, he performs on harpsichord, clavichord and early pianos, allowing audiences to hear repertoire through the different sounds of historical keyboard instruments.

His recordings have been released by Piano Classics, Brilliant Classics and NCPA Classics. These recordings and public concert materials offer a way to explore his work; the conservatory’s profile and event report are linked below.
